This week wasn't that much of a bore.. School was kind of okay, except for the fact that presentations are starting to bug me. and i seriously need LOTS AND LOTS OF HELP IN JAPANESE!!! AAHHH!! I must do well in my Japanese studies!!! On Friday there were two significant events that happened: 1) Red Hat Talk by CEO of Red Hat Inc. @ UniSIM The talk was okay. but what i was more fascinated was actually UniSIM itself. I mean like whoa! the school looks like JROTC Air Force School. hahaha. the Library is cool too! =] It would be nice if I get to continue my studies there after my NS. but the thing is, it's FREAKING EX!!!! hahah. 2) Dialogue Session with Minister George Yeo (Foreign Affairs Minister) Initially, I was about to doze off, reason being that I'm very tired due to the Red Hat talk that was conducted in the morning. It got off to a sleepy start, but as soon as students start to ask questions, it made me more awake. Because, the topic was on Leadership. and all the points that Minister Yeo brought out, it kind of reflects on what happened to me during my time of leadership positions back in secondary school. But there was one line that he brought out, that had an impact on me. "There will be times when you need to sacrifice some things in the course of leadership", or something like that. I guess I have to agree on that though. Because all my life I have devoted myself to my duty, neglecting my family, loved ones and friends. And that knocked me some sense. My dad once said this: "You may have all the riches in the world, and be the smartest person. BUT, what's the use of being wealthy and all if you don't even care those around you? Have you ever thought about it? That's why religion is important. It sets you guidelines so that you don't go astray" My dad's kind of a religious person. For me, I'm religious, but I do commit sins (not those extreme ones). Because no one's perfect is this world. We all exist as bad and good together. It's a matter of which side do you PREFER, NOT BE. Apart from that, nothing much happened. Well, something did happen today, during training. but heck, it's common to get injured. we just need to take care of the partners. Well that's it for what happened this week. I'm guessing that this new week will give me hell. Well, bring it! My life has a whole new meaning now. But to fulfil that meaning will mean to take steps. I guess just baby steps will do, just to make sure that I don't fall off. haha.
